Estranged Relations was an installation that required an engagement of the senses as the spectator was confronted with an assemblage of materials collected from a site of decaying bourgeoisie villas on the outskirts of Helsinki. The space consisted of rotting wallpaper, window frames, moss, dirt, old magazines, plastic table cloth, interlaced with a photo print of a hallway (330mx110m) and a still digital projection combining and transforming all the elements, simulating a third dimension. The installation was shown in Ptarmigan Gallery, Helsinki in December 2009 and as a part of Berlin’s largest art and culture festival 48 Hours Neukoelln in June 2010.
